We collect the following when you register and use Practix:
- Personal Identification: Full name, email, mobile number, photograph, date of birth, PAN, Aadhaar, and Bar Council registration number (for lawyers).
- Professional Information (Lawyers): Bar Council enrolment, jurisdictions, areas of practice, qualifications, experience, and fee structure.
- Financial Information: Bank account or UPI ID for payouts (lawyers); billing details for subscriptions (clients). Full card numbers are never stored — payments are processed via PCI-DSS compliant gateways.
- Usage Data: IP address, device type, browser, OS, pages visited, session duration, and feature interactions.
- Communications: Messages exchanged on the platform, support tickets, and feedback submitted.
- Location Data: City/state-level location for marketplace search functionality.

How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your account on Practix
- Facilitate connections between clients and legal professionals
- Process subscription payments and disburse lawyer payouts
- Send transactional communications (booking confirmations, receipts, reminders)
- Send service updates and promotional communications (opt-out available at any time)
- Improve platform features, resolve bugs, and conduct analytics
- Comply with legal obligations under Indian law, including lawful government requests
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or Terms violations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for independent marketing purposes.
Section 03
Sharing of Information
- With other users: Lawyer profile information is publicly visible. Client contact details are shared with lawyers only upon confirmed booking.
- With service providers: We engage Cashfree, RazorpayX, cloud hosts, and analytics providers. They are contractually bound to use your data solely for services rendered to us.
- With law enforcement: We disclose information when required by law, court order, or government authority under the IT Act, 2000 or other Indian law.
- Business transfers: In a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the successor entity, with prior notice to you.

Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers in India. We implement:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest
- Role-based access controls limiting employee data access
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Data is retained for as long as your account is active or as required by law. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 90 days.
In the event of a data breach likely to risk your rights, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required under applicable Indian law.
